COLEBROOK BOWLING CLUB - June 6th 2009

Inform us of the death of Howard Morgan, an Over 60’s member of their club for the past 12 years.

He will be sadly missed by all.

SOLIHULL BOWLING CLUB - May 26th 2009

It is with sadness and deep regret that I must inform you of the deaths of two of our members.

Firstly, Arnold Wilkinson a past President of the club who had been a member for many years.

Secondly, David Fearnhead whom I am sure was well know to many of the league bowlers.
David played an active part our club and also in the Thursday and Friday teams.

They will be missed by all.

White Hart B.C. – Obituary - 25th March 2009

It is with deep regret that during the close season we suffered the deaths of two of our longer serving members, bowlers whom I am sure were known to many of you.

Alan Lanckham – a Life Member with over 60 years service and recently Billy Radford with over 30 years service.

A good description of them would be to label them “Characters”.   In their case what does it mean?   Cantankerous? – Yes.   Argumentative? – Yes.   Mischeivous? – Absolutely!

One word of advice God, if you play them at bowls do not signal that you are on before they concede the end – these guys defer to no-one, not even you – they will call measures.

We will miss them both.

COLEBROOK - 17th November 2008

Sad to report another loss of a Senior Bowler Len Whyley. Len was a member of The Colebrook for many years, serving as a Past President and Past Captain of many teams, also I believe a member of The Heart of England Committee.  Thanks to his dedication to the club he was given life membership.  The loss of Len Whyley and Ray Heaton during 2008 has saddened all of The Colebrook Bowling Club members.
