Roll Up For Festival Bowls

Two great bowls festivals will be held on the Fylde coast this year.

The Freeport Fleetwood Bowling Festival will once again be held on the usual greens at the Marine Gardens and Memorial Park from July 21 to 25. Competitions will include a Ladies and Men’s Singles, Shield, Mixed Pairs and a Junior’s Tournament. Winning prize money will include £1,000 to both the Ladies and Men’s Singles winner with payments down to the last 32. Entry fee is £8 and entry forms can be obtained from The Marine Hall, The Esplanade, Fleetwood FY7 6HF (Tel: 01253 771141 or Email: www.marinehall.co.uk). No entries will be accepted after May 31^st ’08.

The new Fylde Coast Autumn Bowling Festival will be held from September 8 to 12. Qualifying rounds will be played on various greens along the Fylde coast, with all finals, this year, being held on the Raikes Hotel green - home of the famous Talbot Trophy. As well as the main Men’s and Ladies Singles events, there will also be a Mixed Pairs and   Over 60’s Singles Tournaments. Total prize monies are expected to exceed £7000, with entry for each competition being only a modest £8 (£4 per person in the Pairs). No entries will be accepted after July 8^th ’08.
