| Norman & Ken were always in control of their semi final swiftly moving
into a 16 - 3 lead and then 20 - 7. Gordon & Geoff staged |
| a mini fight back to 12 before the White Hart pair clinched victory. |
| In the second semi final John & Tonyalthough mainly scoring in singles
and with John playing a number of crucial last |
| bowls and having the luck you need in doubles were always in charge of
the game finally winning to 13 |
| The Final saw the White Hart pair use the corners very effectively going
5 - 0 up, John & Tony shortened the length and |
| close the gap to 5 - 7 before Norman & Ken used the corners agin with a
run of 8 shots. John & Tony shortened the length |
| and took the next 5 ends although only single shots to get to 12 before
Norman and Ken clinched victory. |
| Life Vice President Brian Parkinson thanked Alcester for the use of
their green and providing refreshments before Merit Committee |
| Member Graham Thomas comiserated with Tony & John saying that the match
was far closer than the score showed as there |
| were only one 3, five 2's and 20 singles on the card and presented the
winners with the Doubles Trophy.
